27 August 2013, Press Release
Terria Mobile has been selected as one of the 6 winners of the Swisscom StartUp Challenge. Swisscom runs this competition in cooperation with Venturelab to bring attention to promising business models and support the young companies in their further development. The 6 technology start-ups will spend a week in Silicon Valley in October to make contacts and share knowledge with experts there.
Around 200 companies applied to the Swisscom StartUp Challenge. The business model of each applicant was assessed based on its market potential, team experience, feasibility and significance for the telecommunications and IT sector, resulting in ten finalists. The jury made up of Swisscom decision-makers and Venturelab experts scrutinized these finalists closely, selecting six winners in the end.
Roger Wüthrich-Hasenböhler, Head of Swisscom’s Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Division, states that “Swisscom supports the Swiss companies of tomorrow. We all were thrilled by the very high quality of the participants and are pleased to see that Switzerland is highly innovative.”
For Terria Mobile, this is the second prestigious start-up award this year after having already been selected for the “Swiss National Start-Up Team 2013”.
